How often do we recognize that any sustainable city worth living in will need to focus on urban agriculture? How often do we acknowledge that we need to plant more trees to mitigate climate change? How often are the apples you eat grown on your block?
TreeMobile makes urban agriculture a reality today, absorbs carbon today, can put those apples in your back yard, and it is open for 2019 as of this message. Get a TreeMobile tree, shrub, set of raspberry canes, whatever, and TreeMobile can deliver and plant it for you.
Contribute to your city’s sustainability and grow your own delicious food.
You can also volunteer with us to get your hands in the soil, either as a planter or a driver.
This year’s opening of TreeMobile comes after much technical difficulty, but the difficulty was overcome by TreeMobile’s Beau Lukes! He’s incredible! You could hire him to do your web IT, but you’ll have to get in line behind TreeMobile. Beau is a man who prioritizes the social good of the work he does! Thanks, Beau, and thanks to Clemence who loaded the data on our (limited) stock this year!
NEWS
Welcome Hamilton, & Thanks to Guelph for 9 amazing years
TreeMobile is growing! We are thrilled to have a new TreeMobile team in Hamilton, led by Adrian Hodgson of Design Jam Permaculture. They will be offering planting and delivery service as well as pickups.
It all started in Guelph nine years ago, so this year we are offering a public planting demonstration at 12:30, followed by a light lunch. In case of rain, the Farm will have a greenhouse we can use. Please bring your own drinking vessels and non-disposable plates if possible. Feel free to bring any seeds you may want to exchange as well.
GROW Veggies – One more spot
In our last message we mentioned Homestead T.O.’s GROW VEGGIES program. The program has proven popular, and there is now only one spot left in the Saturday program. Learn more about the program and help Toronto grow its resilience!
